Barnabas simply meant “son of encouragement.” Barnabas was a nickname given to a comrade of Paul by the apostles as a product of his character. So it is with the gift of encouragement in offering support to the mission that many can give with their time, talents and treasure as Cadence Associates. This area of volunteerism can include prayer, financial support, hospitality and numerous ways to encourage field staff in their mission. … through Service: The Stephen Commission
Stephen more than met the requirements of the office of service to which he was elected. The record characterizes him as “a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit” with character marked by enthusiastic faith and of a deep spirituality. It’s that type of character that marks the volunteers who help serve the mission of Cadence Associates.
For every Cadence Missionary working to minister the Gospel to the military community, it takes service by people volunteering to assist in roles that are vital to the field staff’s effectiveness. From bookkeeping to house maintenance or IT Support, it takes a variety of skills to help those who focus on the mission of Cadence International. Every single skill God has given can be used on the field. And with the advance of technology many of the functions that Cadence Missionaries need to perform can be done virtually such as IT and bookkeeping support.

… through Leadership: The Timothy Commission
Every day Cadence Field Staff are teaching and raising up reliable men and women who are called to lead and teach others. Much like Paul’s “passing the torch” of ministry into Timothy’s hands, active duty military personnel can “carry the torch” to the military community they are transferred to. These are locations where no Cadence military ministry exists. Also, Cadence alumni who have the gift of teaching and mentoring can be reaching out to the military community near them such as the Reserves, National Guard, Veterans Hospitals and Wounded Warrior Units.
